About Robin Holland

Robin HollandHi — I’m Robin, and welcome to my blog.

I’m going to tell you a little bit about me, so you can get a taste of what I’m about. But first ( a surprise 🙂 ) — I am going to talk about you — because you figure prominently in my story …

If you’re reading this, you’re likely someone who’s created something — a company, a process, a product — to make life better for others. You’ve figured out how to navigate inside the business box to make a livelihood around what you’ve created, and there have been times when that worked really well. But sometimes it’s hard to give yourself enough credit for what you’ve done, to really feel proud, to identify with and feel great about your successes — and I have a notion about why.

“What stands out is how you were able to spot what was really shiny about me and verbalize it, and I was reminded that things I take for granted about my process might be special. You also confirmed my inner questions about marketing with vulnerability.” ~ Kate Pintor, Kate Pintor Coaching & Consulting

You’ve always itched at the constraints, rules, predictability and norms of the business world, but you found a way and made it work. You might consider yourself an “accidental entrepreneur” with a business built on your unique or out of the box ideas or special insights that brought you success.

Lately, what used to work doesn’t appeal to you anymore.

At times, you’ve wondered if you just needed to work on your “attitude,” maybe get out of town for a long weekend. Restlessness and boredom were familiar companions. You may have felt like a misfit and wondered if your ideas really were “unrealistic” — when it seemed like your opportunities had gone flat, and your ideas didn’t seem to have the oomph they used to. You knew you could continue doing things “as usual”– you’ve been doing that for years. Sometimes you had projects that did satisfy, where it mattered that you were you, because your uniqueness clearly created value.

What you haven’t known, is how to climb out of the rut permanently.

But you know it’s draining you to keep doing what you’ve been doing, and you don’t want to continue as a partial version of yourself anymore. These feelings may even be affecting your relationships at home. They’re certainly dimming your zest, and sometimes, even your belief in yourself.

You long to feel fully alive again, with your excitement, passion and unique vision guiding everything you do.

It’s because in the very core of who you are, you really are a “creative,” who’s been trying to “make it work” in an outdated vision of your work — which isn’t set up to recognize or support your gifts now.

It might have been weeks or months or years, but you’ve found yourself feeling bored or worried that you’re stagnating, doing the same tired thing you’ve been doing. You may feel unready or uncertain about what the next step should be. Or you may feel more than ready, and not know the best course of action –  especially if you have an inkling that the path in front of you looks like nothing you’ve ever done before – maybe unlike what anyone has done before. Then again, you may have a pretty good idea of what’s needed, and need more resources to make things happen.

Whatever your specialty or expertise, whether you are a psychotherapist, CEO of a tech firm, vacation services entrepreneur, or professional anything, at some point, you’re going to be ready– or have the chance — to up your game. You’re going to be called to make a move into that wild zone of fresh creation, to create a new vision — and ensuing message — for yourself and your business.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you can succeed in your next chapter, your way, on your terms. I’m here to provide collaboration and support for you to do just that. Whether that chapter is a new spin on your career, an updated platform for your business, writing a book, creating a program, or something a little crazier — if it’s calling you, you’d better heed the call!

Why is this so important? Let’s put it simply. Ignoring the call from within (which can feel like boredom, restlessness or frustration) cuts you off from your greatest source of aliveness. Finding the courage — and the form — for answering this call is the path to authenticity, joy and fulfillment.

“2008 was a scary year for everyone. Recovering from that, we were looking for a way to take ourselves and our business forward with less stress and more vision. Robin gave us permission to dream forward a bit, and then working together, we discovered qualities and capabilities of leadership in ourselves that we hadn’t been aware of. We are now more relaxed and comfortable when “crisis” occurs and we have a better understanding of our resources that has allowed us to manage growth in a responsible and profitable manner.” ~ Sandy & Kathy, Herb’s Pool Service

Together we’ll define, develop and deliver your what you’re dreaming to create — your message.

“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.” ~ Lao Tzu

Now I’ll tell you a bit about myself.

My Story

I was on a path towards an English degree, and was summoned to Kinesiology. I was on a path to a physical therapy career, and was enticed to become an advertising executive. I was on the path of a product marketing expert, and was bewitched into becoming CFO in our interactive game studio. I intended to stay there forever, and was unexpectedly liberated to co-create with other business owners to heighten the success of their businesses, while honing my own self-expression craft.

I’d be lying if I said it was always easy and never frustrating. I’ve had my fair share of encounters with the Unknown…

Along the way I’ve become a master of reinvention, for myself, for others. I see people’s gifts and envision opportunities. Collaborating together, we create clarity about what’s calling from inside of you, we “spark your message,” and we build out your success plan together.

I’ve collaborated to build healthy teams, healthy ad campaigns, and healthy products in some of the wackiest and coolest companies imaginable (like LucasArts). I’ve collaborated in launching Star Wars games, developing Clorox media plans, and creating the structure and functioning of a game software company. And I’ve been shaped by forces over the years including Christianity, Dale Carnegie training, Lifespring, Robbins Research International, The Alternative Board, and a host of individuals and organizations arriving at just the right time to supply creative guidance or activate another level of my personal internal wisdom.

“I went through a major career change, selling my previous business and transitioning into business consulting, coaching and speaking full-time. Robin was right there with me through the transition and relentlessly displayed being as deeply invested in my success as I was. When she says she helps co-create with you, she does so with the totality of her intuitive heart and brilliant mind. She possesses amazing skill in listening deeply, challenging blindspots, and bringing forth the best in you. Her life experiences, business acumen, and depth of transformational impact allow her to guide with wisdom and discernment” ~ Vanessa Horn, The Signature Series.

Since 2011, I’ve been combining everything I’ve learned into a body of knowledge for collaborating with people who are in what I like to call “creatorship.” Many self-identify as “accidental entrepreneurs.”

Today we have vast new possibilities thanks to the internet and online communications. This adds a whole new and exciting dimension. Our tools to create and innovate are virtually unlimited! This calls us all forward and demands we stay current. It’s both thrilling and daunting!

About You

I’ve told you that my work is about you — do you see the connection?

I’m guessing you’re still reading because you are considering a new direction or new project. Maybe it’s not a well-developed idea yet, or you’re stuck, looking for creative inspiration. It’s  intriguing to think about what you might do …

What are you thinking about doing? Does it feel like stepping into a void? Are you daring to listen to the quiet, but still relentless, voice inside you? Maybe a little nudge is all you really need to get started…

I’d like to collaborate with you to define, develop and deliver your voice, your message, your exquisite contribution.

Do you find yourself in my story?

I connect best with people who:

  • Sense there’s opportunity in their work or life that they’re missing.
  • Are ready to notch things up in their work and be open to new possibilities.
  • Are willing to go on the journey and be in the process. They’re willing to “put the shovel in the ground” … there might be trepidation, but they’re going to do it. They know it’s time.
  • Have a big expansive ability, a big capacity — like having a giant set of lungs to sing with. They want an expanded, unbridled expression.

If we work together, you can count on me to:

  • See you for who you truly are. I can’t help but see your genius!
  • Deeply connect with the person you are inside.
  • Be committed to your greatness. I will stand with you while you get your sea-legs to show up fully in all that you are.

My intentions for you:

  • Whatever you want to build, whatever you want to author, we will get that done.
  • We have fun in this process, this can feel weightless and be powerful.
  • You’ll create real-world results. Change at this level is felt by anyone who encounters you — your market, yes — but also your family, friends, and the larger world. Your company will get the best you have to offer. You’ll feel the joy of finding more freedom, spaciousness and authenticity, as a conscious creator, and manifesting the gifts you are here to give.

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.”~ Martha Graham
